1. Data We Collect
- Account data: email, display name, preferred language, and sign-in/security verification details. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we also receive the basic account identifiers returned by that provider.
- Chart and personalization data: birth date, birth time, birth city, generated chart outputs, saved profiles, favorites, and settings.
- AI processing data: when you request reports, chat, or other generated features, the birth-profile data, prompts, and context required to complete that request may be sent to external AI/LLM providers.
- Product content data: chat messages, report requests, generated outputs, support requests, feedback, and error logs.
- Diagnostics and analytics data: app interaction events, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and device/app-version technical data used for stability monitoring and product improvement.
- Notification and device data: push permission state, Expo push token, and notification preferences when you enable notifications.
- Transaction data: Credits, subscriptions, purchase state, restore-purchase activity, and refund/accounting records (excluding full card numbers).
2. Why We Use Data
- To provide core product functions, including sign-in, chart generation, AI reports, and chat.
- When you request astrology outputs, we process birth-profile data under the lawful basis of contract necessity to fulfill that request.
- To support subscriptions, Credits, purchase restoration, risk controls, incident investigation, and service quality improvements.
- To register push notifications, deliver product notifications, and sync your notification preferences when you opt in.
- To comply with legal obligations and conduct necessary security reviews.
3. Third-Party Services
AskStar relies on third-party service providers to deliver product features, such as hosting/database providers, Apple or Google sign-in services when you choose them, product analytics and crash-reporting tools, push-notification infrastructure, app-store purchase infrastructure, and contracted AI/LLM inference providers. These providers process data only to deliver AskStar on our behalf. Where applicable, cross-border transfers are handled with safeguards such as SCCs or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
4. Data Retention
- While your account is active, we retain profiles, reports, and chat data needed to provide the service.
- Push tokens and notification preferences are removed or disabled when you turn notifications off, sign out, delete your account, or when the system cleans up inactive tokens.
- Diagnostics and analytics data are retained for limited operational periods based on service settings and business need, rather than indefinitely keeping all raw events.
- External AI/LLM provider processing and retention follow contracted processor terms and are limited to what is necessary for your requested feature.
- After account deletion, primary records enter a deletion workflow; backups and audit logs may be retained for a limited period for security needs.
- Payment and accounting records may be retained longer when required by law or finance controls.
5. Account Deletion and Data Requests
You can request account deletion directly inside the AskStar app. If you cannot access the app, you can also contact us through the support page or from your registered email. We may verify identity before completing account and data deletion.
6. Your Rights
- Where applicable law provides, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data.
- You may ask questions about international transfers, model processing, and how automated content generation works in AskStar.
- If you believe your account or data was handled in error, you may contact support and ask us to review the request.
7. Tracking, Marketing, and Children
- AskStar does not use app data for third-party advertising tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We do not sell personal data to data brokers.
- AskStar is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that a child provided personal data without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
