This page explains how AskStar collects, uses, retains, and deletes your data.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email, display name, preferred language, and sign-in/security verification details.
  • Chart and personalization data: birth details, generated chart outputs, saved profiles, and settings.
  • AI processing data: to generate requested reports/chat outputs, birth date, birth time, and birth city may be sent to external AI/LLM providers.
  • Product content data: chat messages, report requests, generated outputs, and error logs.
  • Transaction data: records related to Credits purchases (excluding full card numbers).

2. Why We Use Data

  • To provide core product functions, including sign-in, chart generation, AI reports, and chat.
  • When you request astrology outputs, we process birth-profile data under the lawful basis of contract necessity to fulfill that request.
  • To support billing, risk controls, incident investigation, and service quality improvements.
  • To comply with legal obligations and conduct necessary security reviews.

3. Third-Party Services

AskStar relies on third-party cloud and model services (for example, database, payments, and AI inference providers) to deliver product features. LLM vendors process data only as contracted processors. Where applicable, cross-border transfers are handled with Chapter V safeguards such as SCCs and supplemental protections.

4. Data Retention

  • While your account is active, we retain profiles, reports, and chat data needed to provide the service.
  • External AI/LLM provider processing and retention follow contracted processor terms and are limited to what is necessary for your requested feature.
  • After account deletion, primary records enter a deletion workflow; backups and audit logs may be retained for a limited period for security needs.
  • Payment and accounting records may be retained longer when required by law or finance controls.

5. Account Deletion and Data Requests

During beta, deletion requests are handled manually. Please contact support from your registered email, and we will process account and data deletion after identity verification.

6. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, and ask questions about international transfers and AI processing. For usage rules and disclaimers, please see the Terms of Service
